A Step Toward Greater Independence
In Hama, Syria, 29-year-old Salem Yassin, a father of eight, lost his left leg below the knee following a landmine explosion. Since then, mobility, daily activities, and providing for his family have become significant challenges.
Through the Medical Support Programme in Syria, in partnership with JIGSAW, Salem received a prosthetic limb to help him regain the ability to walk and move independently, return to work, and fulfill his responsibilities toward his family.
Today, he has a renewed opportunity to live with greater independence, move with confidence, and be present for his children and family.
Because meaningful support goes beyond providing a solution, it gives people the opportunity to move forward with greater confidence, dignity, and independence.

خطوة نحو حياة أكثر استقلالًا
في حماة، سوريا، يعيش سليم ياسين، 29 عامًا، وأب لثمانية أطفال، بعد إصابة إثر انفجار لغم أرضي أدت إلى بتر ساقه اليسرى تحت الركبة، ليواجه منذ ذلك الحين تحديات كبيرة في الحركة والتنقل وقضاء احتياجاته اليومية.
ضمن برنامج الدعم الطبي في سوريا، وبالشراكة مع JIGSAW، تم تركيب طرف صناعي لمساعدته على استعادة قدرته على المشي والتنقل والاعتماد على نفسه، والعودة إلى العمل والقيام بمسؤولياته تجاه أسرته.
اليوم، أصبح لديه فرصة جديدة ليعيش حياته بمزيد من الاستقلالية، ويتحرك بثقة، ويكون حاضرًا لأطفاله وعائلته.
لأن الدعم الحقيقي لا يقتصر على تقديم الحلول، بل يكمن أثره في منح الإنسان فرصةً ليواصل حياته بخطوات أكثر ثباتًا واستقلالًا.
