Syria’s Minister of Culture, Mohammad Yassin Al-Saleh, welcomed Dr. Shadi Zazza, President of Rahma Worldwide, and Syrian filmmaker Sam Kadi, Director of Little Gandhi, in the presence of the family of Ghiyath Matar.
The meeting explored the film’s journey and message, highlighting the role of cinema in preserving Syria’s collective memory and bringing the stories of those who made profound sacrifices to a wider audience. The discussion also emphasized the power of art to raise awareness and strengthen human and social values.
The Minister was briefed on the film’s production and development, reaffirming the importance of supporting artistic works that contribute to preserving Syria’s history and documenting the stories and sacrifices of those who lost their lives. He also expressed his appreciation to the family of Ghiyath Matar, honoring their strength and sacrifice. The family, in turn, expressed its gratitude to the Ministry of Culture for supporting and hosting the film’s screening events.
Through its support for projects that preserve human stories, Rahma Worldwide continues to help keep these stories alive, because preserving the memory of individuals is also a way of preserving the history, dignity, and collective memory of communities.

استقبل وزير الثقافة محمد ياسين الصالح الدكتور شادي ظاظا، رئيس منظمة رحمة حول العالم، والمخرج السوري سامر القاضي، مخرج فيلم «غاندي الصغير»، بحضور عائلة الشهيد غياث مطر.
وتناول اللقاء مسيرة الفيلم ومضمونه، ودور السينما في توثيق الذاكرة السورية واستحضار قصص من قدّموا تضحياتهم، إلى جانب أهمية الفن في نشر الوعي وتعزيز القيم الإنسانية والمجتمعية.
كما اطّلع الوزير على مراحل إنجاز الفيلم ومساره، مؤكداً أهمية دعم الأعمال الفنية التي تسهم في حفظ الذاكرة السورية، وتوثيق قصص الشهداء وتضحياتهم. وعبّر الوزير عن تقديره لعائلة الشهيد غياث مطر، مثمناً صبرها وتضحياتها، فيما أعربت العائلة عن شكرها لوزارة الثقافة على احتضان فعاليات عرض الفيلم.
ومن خلال دعمها للمشاريع التي توثّق القصص الإنسانية، تواصل رحمة حول العالم العمل على إبقاء هذه الحكايات حاضرة، لتظل الذاكرة حيّة، ولتبقى قصص أصحابها جزءاً من تاريخ الشعوب وكرامتها.
